Delta, BC – October 27, 2025 — A woman has died following a late-night vehicle fire on Highway 17 in Delta.

According to the Delta Police Department (DPD), officers were called to the 7000 block of Highway 17 at around 11:20 p.m. on October 26 after reports of a motor vehicle incident and a subsequent fire.

Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the vehicle’s lone female occupant was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released.

“The Delta Police Department extends sincere condolences to the victim’s family during this difficult time,” police said in a statement.

The DPD, in collaboration with the BC Coroners Service, has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.

Police are asking anyone who may have been travelling along Highway 17 around the time of the incident, or who has dash camera footage, to contact the Delta Police Department at 604-946-4444 or email tips@deltapolice.ca.
