White Rock,BC- White Rock is set to welcome the new year with a splash as the popular White Rock Polar Bear Swim returns on Thursday, January 1, 2026. The much-anticipated New Year’s Day tradition will take place at White Rock Beach, east of the pier, drawing hundreds of brave swimmers and thousands of spectators to the waterfront.
Registration for participants will begin at 10:30 a.m., with the main plunge scheduled for 12:00 p.m. (noon) near 14970 Marine Drive. Open to all ages, the event is free to participate, with donations encouraged to support community initiatives led by local Rotary clubs, who proudly host the annual swim.
The Polar Bear Swim is known for its lively atmosphere, with swimmers donning creative costumes and competing for prizes, while spectators cheer them on from the beach. Hot chocolate, community camaraderie, and plenty of photo-worthy moments add to the festive spirit of the day.
