White Rock,BC- White Rock City Council is inviting residents and visitors to share their views on the use of fireworks at the city’s major summer celebrations. At the November 17, 2025, Council meeting, the 2026 Special Events corporate report was presented, seeking direction on fireworks for Canada Day by the Bay and the White Rock Sea Festival and Semiahmoo Days in 2026 and beyond.
While fireworks remain a popular and longstanding part of these annual events, concerns have also been raised regarding traffic congestion and public safety. To better understand community perspectives, Council directed staff to launch a public survey on the Talk White Rock platform.
The survey is open from December 2, 2025, to January 2, 2026. City Council will review and discuss the results at a Council meeting in January, with the goal of making a decision that balances celebration, safety, and the overall experience for residents and visitors.
