
Surrey/Delta, BC – October 26, 2025: Police in Surrey and Delta are investigating two overnight shootings that occurred just minutes apart and may be connected.
In Surrey, officers with the Surrey Police Service (SPS) responded around 2:43 a.m. Sunday to reports of gunfire at a residence in the 7800 block of 124 Street in the Newton area. Several people were inside the home at the time, but no injuries were reported. The exterior of the residence sustained damage from multiple bullets.
Around the same time, Delta Police Department (DPD) officers were called to a similar incident in the 11200 block of 78B Avenue. Investigators say the residence was also struck by gunfire and that the shooting is believed to be targeted and linked to extortion-related activity. Fortunately, no one inside the Delta home was injured.
Police from both jurisdictions are working together to determine whether the two shootings are connected, as the homes are located only about 12 blocks apart.
