Surrey, B.C. – Two people were arrested and are facing Criminal Code charges after an off-duty Surrey Police Service (SPS) officer spotted a stolen vehicle in the early hours of March 1, 2025.
At approximately 6:00 a.m., an SPS officer who had just finished a night shift noticed the suspected stolen vehicle parked at a residence in the 10500-block of 140 Street. The vehicle had been reported stolen earlier during their shift.
SPS Frontline officers, with assistance from the Integrated Police Dog Services (IPDS), responded and arrested two individuals as they attempted to drive away.
A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of a backpack containing approximately 255 grams of suspected cocaine (both powder and rock forms), 24 grams of suspected fentanyl, and 24 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
The two suspects were later released on Undertakings to Appear pending further investigation. SPS has confirmed that charges under the Criminal Code are forthcoming.
