Chandigarh- The hearings for all three cases related to the 2015 Bargari sacrilege incident have been moved to the district court in Chandigarh. Sukhraj Singh, the son of Krishna Bhagwan Singh, who was killed in the firing, has criticized the Punjab government for this court decision. On Friday, the Punjab and Haryana High Court approved the appeal to conduct the trial of the Behbal Kalan firing case outside Punjab, ordering it to be held in Chandigarh.
Former SSP Charanjit Sharma, an accused in the case, had petitioned the High Court to move the trial out of Punjab, citing threats to his life if the trial were held in the state. The High Court has accepted his petition and ordered that the trial be completed in Chandigarh instead of Faridkot.
