Vancouver, B.C. – Tesla has been removed from this week’s Vancouver International Auto Show due to safety concerns, according to event organizers.
In a statement released Tuesday, Eric Nicholl, the show’s executive director, said the decision was made to ensure the safety of workers, attendees, and exhibitors at the event, which runs from Wednesday to Sunday at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
“Tesla was provided multiple opportunities to voluntarily withdraw,” Nicholl stated, adding that the removal would allow attendees to focus on the “many positive elements” of the event.

The removal comes just days after B.C. Premier David Eby announced that Tesla would no longer be eligible for the province’s EV rebate program, because of Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk.
While specific safety concerns regarding Tesla’s presence at the auto show were not disclosed, the decision marks another setback for the electric vehicle giant in British Columbia.
The Vancouver International Auto Show remains one of the country’s largest automotive events, showcasing new vehicle models and innovations in the industry.
