Delta, BC – A 17-year-old youth was seriously injured Friday night following a shooting in the 900 block of English Bluff Road near Fred Gingell Park.
According to the Delta Police Department (DPD), officers responded to reports of gunfire around 8:19 p.m. The teen, who is not from Delta, was part of a group of high school students visiting from another Lower Mainland community on a party bus outing.
Investigators believe the shooting was targeted. The victim was transported to hospital and is currently in stable condition.
A newer model silver or grey Toyota Camry was seen fleeing the area shortly after the shooting.
Police are conducting door-to-door canvassing and are appealing for any witnesses or video footage that could assist the investigation. Anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage from the area is urged to contact Delta Police at 604-946-4444 or email tips@deltapolice.ca.
