Vancouver, B.C. – A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged with four counts of aggravated assault following a violent stabbing incident that injured four people Wednesday evening in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

Vancouver Police say officers were called around 6:40 p.m. to reports of multiple stabbings outside a building near East Hastings Street and Jackson Avenue. Four victims — three men and a woman, aged between 33 and 60 — were taken to hospital with stab wounds.

The suspect was arrested within hours at another location in the Downtown Eastside and remained in custody overnight. Investigators believe one victim was targeted, while the other three were innocent bystanders caught in the attack.

The 17-year-old remains in custody as the investigation continues.
