Surrey, BC — The Surrey Police Service (SPS) is appealing to the public for information following a theft at a retirement residence in South Surrey.

Police say that on December 15, 2025, at approximately 2:10 p.m., a suspect entered a retirement residence in the 15500 block of 16 Avenue. The suspect allegedly gained access to an apartment by pretending to be a maintenance worker conducting a sprinkler system check. Once inside, the suspect stole the resident’s purse and fled the building.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall. At the time of the incident, he was wearing dark pants, a red Under Armour hoodie, a dark hat, and glasses. Police have released photos of the suspect in hopes of identifying him and locating additional witnesses or potential victims.

The investigation remains active, and investigators believe others may have seen the suspect or had similar encounters.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Surrey Police Service non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 25-111343 (SP).
