Surrey, BC – The Surrey Police Service (SPS) is making strides towards becoming the official police of jurisdiction in Surrey on November 29, 2024. In preparation for this significant transition, SPS is actively recruiting experienced Frontline Constables and has introduced a limited-time $10,000 signing bonus to attract qualified candidates.
Since July 1, 2024, SPS has been offering this bonus exclusively to experienced officers who apply as exempt candidates and are subsequently hired into SPS’s Frontline (patrol) division. This initiative not only supports the growth of SPS’s frontline team but also highlights the city’s commitment to ensuring efficient and responsive law enforcement for Surrey residents.
Upon taking on jurisdictional duties in November, SPS will implement a patrol model that includes both two-person and one-person vehicles. This approach is expected to improve the efficiency and safety of police responses by allowing multi-officer teams to respond promptly to the many calls requiring combined force.
