Surrey, B.C. – A woman is in critical condition following an early morning shooting at a Surrey residence on Sunday.
Police were called to a home in the 13000 block of 103A Avenue just before 2:45 a.m. after reports of shots fired.
“Officers arrived and BCEHS paramedics were administering life-saving medical intervention to an adult female who was inside the residence at the time and had suffered a gunshot wound,” said the Surrey Police Service (SPS) in a statement.
The victim was transported to hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made at this time. The SPS Major Crimes Section has taken over the investigation and is examining whether the incident may be connected to recent extortion-related cases.
