Surrey Police Arrest Man After Shots Fired Outside Residence

Surrey, BC – A 46-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an overnight shooting incident outside a Surrey residence.

At approximately 8:45 p.m. on October 26, 2025, Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 14100 block of 72 Avenue after an alleged dispute between several individuals.

Upon arrival, officers located and arrested a suspect who remained on scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though the exterior of the residence sustained damage from multiple gunshots.

The suspect, David Bruce Baxter, has been charged with one count of attempted murder using a firearm and one count of discharging a firearm at a residence. Baxter remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court this afternoon.

Police have confirmed that the incident is not related to extortion. As the matter is now before the courts, no further details will be released.
