Surrey Police and BC RCMP Investigate Overnight Shooting in Newton

Surrey, BC – Officers from the Surrey Police Service (SPS) and the BC RCMP Surrey Provincial Operational Support Unit (SPOSU) are investigating a shooting that occurred overnight at a residence in Newton, resulting in property damage.

The incident came to light shortly after 1 a.m. on January 6, when a resident of a house in the 7100 block of 128th Street returned home to find multiple gunshot holes in the side of their property. Investigators believe the shooting occurred between 10 p.m. on January 5 and 1 a.m. on January 6.

Fortunately, no one was home during the incident, and no injuries were reported. At this time, there are no descriptions of suspects.

The BC RCMP SPOSU General Investigation Unit has taken the lead in the investigation. Authorities are appealing to anyone with information, surveillance footage, or dashcam video from the area during the specified timeframe to come forward.
