Brampton, ON – Peel Regional Police have charged five individuals in connection with an extensive and organized theft ring that targeted the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO), resulting in the theft of nearly a quarter-million dollars’ worth of liquor.
According to investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau, between August 2024 and February 2025, the suspects carried out coordinated thefts at over 50 LCBO locations across multiple jurisdictions, including Peel Region. The group is alleged to have operated in a systematic fashion—entering stores in groups, distracting staff, and accessing restricted areas to steal large volumes of alcohol.
The estimated value of stolen merchandise totals approximately $237,738.95.
Following a comprehensive investigation, police arrested and charged five men with Theft Over $5000. Additional charges were laid against three of the accused:
- Anuj Kumar, 25, of no fixed address
- Simarpeet Singh, 29, of no fixed address
- Sharndeep Singh, 25, of no fixed address
- Additional charge: Breach of Release Order
- Simranjeet Singh, 24, of no fixed address
- Additional charge: Break and Enter with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence
- Prabhpreet Singh, 29, of Caledon
- Additional charge: Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence
All five individuals were held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
Police are also seeking two additional suspects, both of whom are wanted on charges of Theft Over $5000 and Break and Enter with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence:
- Jagshir Singh, 28, of no fixed address.
- Punit Sehjra, 25, of no fixed address.
“The work of our Criminal Investigation Bureau has been nothing short of exceptional in dismantling this prolific organized crime group,” said Deputy Chief Marc Andrews of Peel Regional Police. “By arresting and charging multiple individuals, we are sending a strong message that those who target our communities will be found and held accountable.”
He added that the Peel Regional Police remain committed to protecting the safety of local neighborhoods and ensuring those responsible face justice.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing and anticipate further charges may be laid as it progresses.
