Surrey, B.C. – The Surrey Police Service (SPS) continues its rapid growth, welcoming 19 experienced officers to its ranks today. These new additions will bring valuable skills to frontline policing and specialty units, helping to expand and strengthen policing services across Surrey.
“We welcomed 19 more experienced officers to SPS today, bringing their skill sets to frontline policing and other specialty units,” the SPS stated. “Their knowledge and expertise will help SPS continue to grow and expand policing services in Surrey.”
The recruitment is part of SPS’s ongoing transition to a fully operational municipal police force, replacing the RCMP in B.C.’s second-largest city. With each phase, SPS emphasizes building a modern, community-oriented department focused on public trust and proactive policing.
The officers come from diverse law enforcement backgrounds and will be deployed across various units based on operational needs. SPS leadership expressed confidence that these additions will further support community safety and effective service delivery.
