Surrey, BC – The Surrey Police Service (SPS) has officially expanded its operations into South Surrey West, bringing enhanced policing support to the area, including the Semiahmoo First Nation.
In a social media announcement, SPS stated:
“Today, we expanded our policing services to South Surrey West, and will be working with Semiahmoo First Nation to offer policing support. There will be a planned expansion into the east side of South Surrey in the fall of 2025.”
What This Means for South Surrey Residents:
- Increased Police Presence: Residents in South Surrey West will notice more SPS officers patrolling the area, aiming to improve response times and community engagement.
- Support for Semiahmoo First Nation: SPS will now provide dedicated policing services to Semiahmoo First Nation. Additional officers have been added to the Indigenous Relations Unit to strengthen ties and ensure culturally informed policing.
- No Changes to Contact Information: All police office locations and contact numbers remain the same across Surrey.
This expansion marks a significant step in SPS’s ongoing transition and commitment to delivering modern, community-focused policing citywide. The east side of South Surrey is expected to receive expanded services later in fall 2025.
