Surrey, BC – One of the most anticipated sports and cultural events in the country, Sikh Games Canada 2025, is coming to Tamanawis Park (12601 64 Ave, Surrey) from June 26 to 29. The four-day event promises to be an exciting celebration of athletic talent, community unity, and cultural pride.
Organizers say the event is more than just sports—it’s a powerful initiative designed to uplift the next generation while keeping them connected to their heritage. “This initiative is about empowering our next generation and strengthening their connection to our heritage,” says Jassa Singh, one of the main organizers.
This inaugural year features competitions in Basketball (U18 Girls, U18 Boys, U15 Boys), Field Hockey, Soccer, Wrestling, and Athletic Races. Athletes from across British Columbia and beyond are expected to participate, showcasing not only their physical strength and skill, but also discipline and true sportsmanship.
In addition to sports, the event will offer a unique cultural display with a Lamborghini, Vintage Jeep, and Tractor Show—a highlight that connects both modern and traditional aspects of Punjabi identity. It’s a family-friendly weekend that blends competition with culture and community spirit.
Wake Up Surrey, in collaboration with Northland Sport Products and BC Hoops, is proud to support this effort to take youth basketball and other sports to a higher, competitive level. Organizers are also calling on the community for support. “To ensure the success of this event, we are calling upon our community for volunteers and sponsors. Whether you can contribute your time, resources, or energy, your support is vital,” said the organizing team.
The event is free to attend, with free parking and free food (Langar) available to all. With a mix of high-energy matches, cultural attractions, and community engagement, Sikh Games Canada 2025 is set to be a landmark event in Surrey’s calendar.
