Lahore- The Punjab government in Pakistan has approved the Sikh Marriage Act, effective immediately, to facilitate the Sikh community. Now, Sikh couples above 18 can marry under the new “Anand Karaj” law.

The Minister for Minorities Affairs, Sardar Ramesh Arora, highlighted that this initiative has received attention in Indian Punjab’s media, showcasing Pakistan as a minority-friendly country.โaccording to Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabndhak Committee.
โThe government is also working on rules for the Hindu Marriage Act and has taken other initiatives to support minority communities, including a special grant for Christian families and a visit by Chief Minister Maryam to a Sikh Gurdwara Sahib.โ Says PSGPC.
