Shots Fired in North Surrey; Police Investigating

Surrey,BC- Surrey RCMP’s Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) is investigating a shooting that occurred in North Surrey early Friday morning.

On January 2, 2026, at approximately 12:30 a.m., police responded to reports of shots fired near the intersection of 111 Avenue and 160 Street. The complainant who reported the incident told officers they heard gunfire and that a distraught man later appeared at their door.

SPOSU officers attended the scene, where they located and detained the male. Police found bullet casings in the area, along with damage to two vehicles and two nearby homes. No injuries were reported.

The investigation has now been taken over by SPOSU’s General Investigation Unit (GIU). Police are asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Surrey Police Service non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 26-153 (SU), or to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
