Vancouver, BC — In the early hours of November 19, a CargoJet flight operating as a PrimeAir aircraft overran the eastern boundary of the North Runway at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) upon landing. The incident occurred at approximately 1:45 a.m.
YVR Fire and Rescue teams promptly attended the scene. The flight crew of three were safely deplaned, and no injuries have been reported.
The North Runway is currently closed as crews assess the situation and work to restore operations. This closure is expected to impact airport schedules. YVR advises passengers to check with their airlines for the latest updates on flight statuses.
“We appreciate the swift response of our emergency teams and the patience of travelers as we prioritize safety and security,” a YVR spokesperson stated.
