Community Mourns the Loss of Rajinder Singh Lally, A Pillar of Strength and Service

Abbotsford, BC – The Abbotsford community is mourning the loss of Rajinder Singh Lally, a respected and beloved figure whose passing marks the end of an era of selfless community service and cultural dedication.

A funeral service in memory of Mr. Lally will be held on May 31st, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Fraser River Funeral Home, 2061 Riverside Rd, Abbotsford. This will be followed by Sehaj Path Bhog at 4:30 PM at Khalsa Diwan Society, 33094 South Fraser Way, Abbotsford.

The Lok Virsa Cultural Association expressed its grief in an official statement. “We are very saddened to learn the passing of S. Rajinder Singh Lally. Our deepest condolences to the Lally family during this difficult time. Rajinder’s dedication to various community events—especially ours, The Lok Virsa Cultural Association—was and always will be appreciated,” said Shantee Saroop, the main organizer of the Lok Virsa Mela.

“Mr. Lally was a true pillar of our community, and his generosity and kindness will be forever remembered,” Saroop added.

Rajinder Singh Lally was widely known for his unwavering commitment to cultural and charitable initiatives across the Fraser Valley. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched and the institutions he helped uplift.
