Police investigating homicide in Surrey

Surrey, BC — A physical altercation involving two large groups of men outside a business near 102 Avenue and City Parkway has escalated into a homicide investigation. Surrey RCMP responded to the initial incident at approximately 9:52 p.m. on November 17, 2024. However, the groups had dispersed before officers arrived.

Shortly after, police were alerted to an injured man in the area of 67B Avenue and 146 Street. Despite life-saving efforts by BC Emergency Health Services and the Surrey Fire Service, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the case, working in collaboration with the Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incidents or has video footage to contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448).

The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released.
