Surrey, December 16 — The RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) is investigating an early evening collision involving a bus and a pedestrian at the intersection of 56 Avenue and 180 Street.

Police say that at approximately 5:00 p.m. on December 16, 2025, SPOSU officers responded to reports that a shuttle-style bus had struck a pedestrian at the intersection. Emergency crews from Surrey Fire Service and BCEHS attended the scene and provided medical assistance to the adult male pedestrian.

The pedestrian was transported to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries, which are still being assessed. The bus driver remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with investigators.

The cause of the collision has not yet been determined and remains under investigation. Motorists are advised that the intersection of 56 Avenue and 180 Street will remain closed for a period of time while officers examine the scene and collect evidence.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage to contact the Surrey Police Service non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 25-67664 (SU).
