Surrey, B.C. – A 29-year-old man was shot and killed in a targeted attack near the intersection of Scott Road and 80th Avenue in Surrey on Monday evening.

Emergency services received multiple 911 calls around 5:30 p.m. reporting gunfire in an outdoor parking lot at the southeast corner of the intersection. Surrey Police arrived to find a man shot inside a vehicle. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sources tell Surrey News that the victim was a well-known member of the local Punjabi community, recognized as a soccer and basketball player, DJ, and realtor.

Shortly after the shooting, a red Dodge Charger believed to be the suspect vehicle was seen fleeing the scene. It was later found engulfed in flames on Westview Drive in Delta, where firefighters extinguished the blaze.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made.
