
Surrey, BC – Surrey’s emergency response capabilities just got a major boost with the official introduction of a new platoon captain position and a state-of-the-art vehicle to the Surrey Fire Service. Mayor Brenda Locke visited one of the South Surrey fire halls to mark the occasion and recognize the enhanced safety measures this addition brings to the growing community.
“This new addition will allow for faster response times, quicker command setup, and enhanced oversight for high-priority calls,” said Mayor Locke. “It’s part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring that our fire service is equipped to serve and protect our growing community.”
The new vehicle, assigned to the platoon captain, is expected to significantly strengthen on-scene coordination during emergencies. With the city’s population rapidly increasing, such upgrades are seen as essential to maintaining public safety and emergency readiness.
