Victoria, BC – Surrey North MLA Mandeep Dhaliwal took part in an RCMP Use of Force and Scenario Training session held at the Armoury on the grounds of the BC Legislature, gaining firsthand insight into the decision-making and tactical skills police officers rely on in critical situations.

Dhaliwal described the hands-on experience as an important opportunity to better understand the split-second judgments officers make to keep communities safe. “Yesterday, I had the opportunity to participate in an RCMP Use of Force and Scenario Training session at the Armoury within the grounds of the BC Legislature in Victoria. This hands-on experience gave me a deeper understanding of the skills, tactics, and split-second decisions our officers make to keep our communities safe,” He said.

The MLA added that meeting RCMP instructors, observing real-world scenarios, and asking questions about policing tactics provided valuable insight into public safety practices. “Experiences like these help me better represent the public on issues of public safety and law enforcement practices,” Dhaliwal noted.

He also expressed appreciation to the RCMP and fellow MLAs for facilitating the training and supporting ongoing learning around policing and community safety.
