Ottawa – The Honourable Kamal Khera, Minister of Diversity, Inclusion, and Persons with Disabilities, has issued a statement reflecting on nearly a decade of working alongside Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The statement highlights Trudeau’s unwavering commitment to Canada’s progress and unity, even in the face of unprecedented challenges.

Minister Khera described working with Trudeau as “the honour of a lifetime,” praising his tireless efforts and resilience. “As the Prime Minister said today, he’s a fighter—and reflecting on this last decade, there’s no doubt about it: he fought tirelessly,” she said.

Khera pointed to the government’s accomplishments under Trudeau’s leadership, including navigating the global pandemic, securing free trade agreements, and making historic investments to strengthen communities and support families. She emphasized that these efforts have delivered tangible results for Canada’s middle class.

The statement also acknowledged Trudeau’s leadership in countering division and upholding shared Canadian values of unity and inclusivity. “While firmly standing against those who sought to sow division, [he chose] to champion the shared values and unity that bind us as Canadians,” she added.

Minister Khera concluded by expressing her gratitude for the Prime Minister’s relentless dedication, calling it a privilege to witness his leadership. “Thank you, Prime Minister, for your unwavering service to Canada, your countless personal sacrifices, and for giving this girl from Brampton the chance of a lifetime,” she said.

As Canada continues to face evolving challenges, Khera reaffirmed her commitment to carrying forward the fight for progress and unity under Trudeau’s vision.
