Surrey, B.C. – A six-month RCMP investigation has led to the dismantling of a major drug trafficking network operating out of Surrey’s Guildford neighbourhood, marking one of the city’s most significant drug seizures this year.

In February 2025, the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) Drug Section launched an investigation into an illicit drug line suspected of supplying street-level quantities of fentanyl and cocaine across the province.

Following months of surveillance and intelligence gathering, investigators identified a large-scale, highly organized operation allegedly responsible for distributing large volumes of illicit substances from the Lower Mainland into the Okanagan region.

On September 10, 2025, officers with RCMP SPOSU, assisted by the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence in the Guildford area. Inside, police uncovered a basement suite that had been converted into a drug processing and packaging facility.

During the operation, four individuals were arrested, and police seized more than 56 kilograms of illicit drugs and cutting agents, including:

  • 24 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine,
  • 9 kilograms of suspected fentanyl,
  • 7.5 kilograms of suspected caffeine,
  • 7.6 kilograms of suspected buffing agent,
  • 3 kilograms of suspected crack cocaine,
  • 2.6 kilograms of suspected cocaine,
  • 2 kilograms of suspected benzodiazepine,

Investigators also seized over $1 million worth of offence-related property and suspected proceeds of crime, including:

  • Two pickup trucks, two SUVs, and a car,
  • A motorhome.
  • Two quads, two jet skis, and one off-road side-by-side vehicle.
  • Approximately $54,000 in cash.

“This drug seizure represents a significant disruption to the local drug trade in Surrey,” said Superintendent Ryan Element, Community Services Officer for RCMP SPOSU. “Investigators believe the suspected drugs were being supplied to communities from the Lower Mainland right into the Okanagan.”

“Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit is committed to seeing the seizure of large-scale drug operations within the city,” added Chief Superintendent Wendy Mehat, Officer in Charge for RCMP SPOSU. “This success highlights the strong collaboration between multiple specialized RCMP drug and major crime units supporting Surrey Police Service operations.”

RCMP SPOSU investigators have now concluded their investigation and are preparing a comprehensive report for submission to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada for consideration of charges.
