SURREY, B.C. — A large fire broke out Sunday evening (July 13) in Surrey’s Guildford area, sending plumes of smoke into the sky and prompting a swift response from firefighters.
The blaze began shortly after 7 p.m. in a four-storey apartment building located in the 15300-block of 101 Avenue, near 154 Street and 100 Avenue.
When fire crews arrived, they were met with heavy smoke and visible flames shooting through the roof of the building. Multiple units within the complex sustained significant damage.
At this time, it’s unclear whether anyone was injured or what may have caused the fire. Fire investigators are expected to remain on scene into to assess the situation.
