New Delhi, June 19, 2024 — In an unusual incident at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, a 24-year-old man disguised as a 67-year-old was arrested by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Tuesday evening. The man, identified as Guru Sewak Singh, was attempting to board an Air Canada flight to Canada when security personnel noticed his suspicious behavior.
Singh, who presented a passport under the name Rashvindar Singh Sahota, claimed to be in his 60s. However, his youthful appearance, voice, and skin texture aroused suspicion among the CISF personnel, leading to a more thorough investigation.
Upon closer scrutiny, it was discovered that Singh had dyed his hair and beard white and was wearing glasses in an effort to appear older. Further questioning revealed his true identity, which he confirmed by showing a digital copy of his authentic passport on his mobile phone. The real passport identified him as 24-year-old Guru Sewak Singh from Uttar Pradesh, a province in India.
Following his admission, the CISF handed Singh and his belongings over to the Delhi Police for further legal action. The incident raises concerns about the effectiveness of airport security measures and the lengths individuals may go to circumvent immigration laws.
