Surrey, BC – Surrey Bylaw Enforcement CVE hosted a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement check with partners from Coquitlam Bylaw, Burnaby RCMP CVE, New West CVE, and BC RCMP Highway Patrol.

The check was set up on the 12600 block of 110 Avenue, targeting heavy trucks using the section of roadway—which is not a designated truck route—to connect between King George Boulevard and Scott Road.

A total of 21 vehicles were inspected during the operation, with 8 vehicles (32%) placed out of service for various safety, mechanical, and regulatory issues.

Throughout the duration of the check, 36 tickets were issued and 39 violations identified. 26 of the tickets were for heavy trucks operating off a designated truck route.

The “Catch of the Day” was a truck with four out-of-service violations and no insurance. The license plates were seized, and the truck was towed.
