Ferozepur, August 7, 2024 – In a significant success against trans-border narcotic smuggling networks, Ferozepur Police have arrested two drug smugglers and seized 6.655 kg of heroin along with ₹6 lakhs in drug money near the Indo-Pak border.
“After working on technical inputs, the CIA team of District Ferozepur has successfully conducted the operation and made the seizure,” said Gaurav Yadav, DGP of Punjab Police.
An FIR was registered yesterday, and investigations are ongoing to establish forward and backward linkages. “Punjab Police is committed to dismantling the drug networks and making our state drug-free as per the directions of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mann,” added Yadav.
This operation marks a critical step in the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and secure the region against the threats posed by narcotics smuggling.
