Langley, B.C. – The Integrated Gang Homicide Team (IGHT) has taken over the investigation into a fatal shooting in Langley after identifying the victim as 24-year-old Taran Pandher of the Lower Mainland.
On Friday, September 5, at approximately 10:28 p.m., Langley RCMP responded to reports of gunfire near 200 Street and 53 Avenue. Officers arrived to find Pandher suffering from gunshot wounds inside a taxi. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say Pandher was known to police and is believed to have ties to organized crime. IHIT confirms the shooting was targeted and is connected to the ongoing British Columbia Gang Conflict.
Roughly 30 minutes after the shooting, at around 11:00 p.m., police received reports of a vehicle fire in the 13250 block of 64A Avenue in Surrey. Investigators believe the burned vehicle may be linked to the Langley homicide.
IGHT is working closely with Langley RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS), and other policing partners to advance the investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area to contact IHIT or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
