OXFORD, UK — Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has joined the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government as a Distinguished Fellow and member of its World Leaders Circle.
Trudeau served as Canada’s prime minister from 2015 to 2025 and led the Liberal Party of Canada from 2013 to 2025.
The World Leaders Circle brings together former heads of government to share their experience and insights with students, researchers and future public leaders, with a focus on improving governance worldwide.
Blavatnik School Dean Professor Ngaire Woods welcomed Trudeau’s appointment, highlighting the value of his decade of public service and the opportunity for students to learn directly from experienced political leaders.
Trudeau said he looks forward to sharing his experience, exchanging ideas with international leaders and engaging with the next generation of policymakers on challenges including geopolitical changes, artificial intelligence, international cooperation and public trust in democratic institutions.
The university also confirmed that Trudeau is expected to visit the School later this month.
