Chandigarh –The inaugural ‘Riwayat’ theatre festival at Panjab University ended on a disappointing note as the highly-anticipated Star Night featuring legendary singer Gurdas Maan was cancelled due to permission issues with the university administration.

This marks the second major cancellation at the fest, following the earlier scrapping of Arjan Dhillon’s performance. The last-minute cancellations left fans frustrated and questioning the university’s handling of the event.

In response, PUCSC Vice President Archit Garg launched an indefinite hunger strike, protesting the administration’s decision. Garg took his protest to the main stage, expressing anger and disappointment over the fest’s mismanagement.

The back-to-back cancellations have sparked outrage among students and raised concerns about the administration’s transparency in organizing campus events. The university has yet to issue an official statement addressing the situation.
