Chandigarh: Former Congress leader Dalvir Goldy, who resigned from the party yesterday, has joined the Aam Aadmi Party in Chandigarh.

He joined the AAP in the presence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and party’s Sangrur Lok Sabha candidate and Cabinet Minister Meet Hayer.

A few days ago, Goldy had hinted at parting ways with the Congress on social media. Since then, it was being expected that he will take a decision regarding staying in the Congress.

He expressed his disappointment when the Congress announced Sukhpal Khaira as its candidate form Sangrur.

After joining the AAP, he said he will campaign in the favour of party and will try to give a flip to the campaign.

Talks are going on that if Meet Hayer wins the Lok Sabha seat, Goldy may get the ticket to contest the Assembly by-election from Barnala.

Goldy had contested Assembly elections against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann from Dhuri.
