Langley, B.C. – An explosion led to a massive house fire in Langley on Friday morning, forcing evacuations, road closures, and sending two people to the hospital in critical condition.
At approximately 10:40 a.m. on February 28, 2025, Langley RCMP received reports of a possible explosion and fire at a residence in the 7300-block of 196 Street. Emergency crews, including Langley Fire, Emergency Health Services, and Langley RCMP, rushed to the scene.
The intensity of the blaze prompted authorities to evacuate nearby homes as a precaution. Road closures were also implemented in the area to allow emergency personnel to manage the situation. The two critically injured individuals were airlifted to the hospital for treatment.
“The investigation into this incident is in its infancy, and we are working closely with the Township of Langley Fire Department to determine the cause of this fire,” said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP.
Authorities are urging residents to avoid the area while the investigation continues. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
