Surrey, B.C. – Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating an early morning shooting that took place in South Surrey.
At approximately 3:50 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 14300-block of 28 Avenue. Upon arrival, police located multiple shell casings scattered on the roadway. Fortunately, no homes were damaged, and no injuries have been reported.
The SPS Frontline Investigation Support (FLIS) Team has taken conduct of the case. Investigators believe the shooting is linked to an ongoing extortion investigation.
Police are appealing to the public for assistance. Anyone with information, including dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, is asked to contact the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502, quoting file number 25-76794 (SP).
