Delta, BC – It was a busy long weekend for Delta’s traffic enforcement, with several notable excessive speeding incidents.
On Friday, two vehicles were caught racing at 116 km/h in a 60 km/h zone on the Alex Fraser Bridge. Both vehicles were impounded for 7 days, and the drivers were fined $368 each. One of the vehicles had a pregnant passenger.
On Sunday, four more vehicles were impounded for excessive speeding:
– 141 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Hwy 17
– 138 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Hwy 17
– 140 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Hwy 17A
– A rental Uber caught at 127 km/h in a 60 km/h zone, resulting in a $483 ticket
Delta Police remind drivers: “Cars that speed together get impounded together.”
