Ottawa – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for Crown Royal Reserve Canadian Whisky – Aged 12 Years due to concerns about possible glass contamination.
The recall, announced August 19, affects 750 mL bottles with UPC 0 82000 80992 0 and code 5199. The product was distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Ontario.
Consumers are advised not to use, sell, serve, or distribute the affected whisky. The CFIA warns that the presence of glass in food products can pose serious health risks if ingested.
The recall is directed at retailers and consumers, and anyone in possession of the product should safely dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase.
