Child Killed after hit by Car in Surrey

Surrey- A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Surrey on Sunday evening when a young child was struck and killed by a vehicle.

Emergency crews were called to the 13800-block of 64th Avenue at approximately 8:17 p.m. after reports of a collision involving a child pedestrian. Despite efforts by paramedics at the scene, the child could not be saved.

The driver involved in the incident stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to the Surrey Police Service.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the crash. Roads in the area remained closed for several hours as police conducted their investigation.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to contact them at 604-599-0502.
