Surrey, B.C. – Surrey Police Service (SPS) frontline officers have arrested a 26-year-old man wanted on an outstanding robbery warrant after he was seen brandishing a knife near City Parkway and 102 Avenue.
The suspect, Jaskaran Dhaliwal, was previously charged in connection with a July 16, 2025, robbery near 151 Street and 56 Avenue. In that incident, a 59-year-old woman reported that a man had torn her purse from her shoulder in a parking lot before fleeing. Bystanders detained the suspect until police arrived, and Dhaliwal was arrested and later released under conditions.
Dhaliwal failed to appear in court on September 17, prompting a warrant for his arrest. The following day, SPS officers acted on a social media report of a man with a knife in Surrey City Centre and located Dhaliwal, arresting him without further incident.
Police say additional charges are under consideration. Dhaliwal remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
