Surrey, B.C. – David William Charles Hoffman, the 38-year-old man arrested in connection with a series of violent break-ins and assaults in South Surrey on February 26, 2025, is now facing additional Criminal Code charges related to both the original incidents and a secondary altercation at a Fraser Health medical facility following his arrest.
Initially, Hoffman was charged with:
• Two counts of break and enter
• One count of assault
• Two counts of mischief under $5,000
• One count of failing to comply with a release order
On March 3, 2025, he was hit with further charges, including:
• A third count of break and enter
• Attempted robbery
• Escape from lawful custody
• Assaulting a peace officer
• Assault by choking
• Attempting to disarm a peace officer
• Additional count of assault
Hoffman remains in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing on March 7, 2025.
As the case is now before the courts, Surrey Police Service (SPS) has stated they will not be providing further comment at this time.
