Surrey, BC- The Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating an early-morning shooting that took place outside a business in the Newton neighbourhood.

Around 12:55 a.m. on October 19, 2025, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area of King George Boulevard and 81 Avenue. Upon arrival, police located a business that had been damaged by what appeared to be gunshots.

According to investigators, the suspect fired at victims who were sitting inside a vehicle parked in front of the business. Both the suspect and the victims fled the area in their vehicles before police arrived.

The SPS Frontline Investigative Support Team (FLIST) has taken conduct of the investigation, with assistance from the Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS) in collecting evidence at the scene.

Police say the motive remains under investigation, but at this time, there is no indication the incident is linked to any ongoing extortion investigations.

The suspect vehicle is described as a white, newer-model, four-door sedan.

Anyone with information, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, is asked to contact the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502, quoting file number 25-91820 (SP), or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 to remain anonymous.
