Brampton, ON — Investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau have laid multiple charges against a Georgetown man following a proactive police operation in Brampton.
Peel Regional Police say that on Sunday, April 27, 2025, officers were patrolling the area of Bovaird Drive West and Lake Louise Drive when they located an occupied stolen vehicle. Officers moved in swiftly, leading to the arrest of the suspect and the seizure of a loaded firearm.
The accused, 27-year-old Prem Parkash Singh, faces several serious charges, including:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There Was a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device
Police confirmed that the firearm recovered at the scene was loaded and equipped with a magazine that exceeded the legal capacity, adding to the severity of the charges.
