Vancouver – Starting January 5, 2026, TransLink is increasing service on 37 bus routes across Metro Vancouver to reduce overcrowding, improve convenience for customers, and extend operating hours on select routes.
Among the key changes, Route 609 will see additional trips throughout the day, improving access to and from Tsawwassen First Nation. Meanwhile, Route 80 will add new midday weekday trips, transitioning from a peak-only service to better connect the River District with the Canada Line.
TransLink is also making minor schedule adjustments to the last SeaBus trips on Sunday nights, shifting departure times by two to six minutes. The changes are intended to ensure vessels have sufficient time to safely dock, unload passengers, and depart for their final crossings.
These service enhancements are funded through TransLink’s 2025 Investment Plan, which represents the largest bus service expansion since 2018. By January 2026, approximately one-third of the new bus service funded under the plan will have been implemented, with improvements continuing to roll out after beginning in September 2025.
