Toronto – Toyota is recalling more than 70,000 vehicles in Canada because of a software problem that could make dashboard displays stop working, increasing the risk of a crash.
According to Canada’s motor vehicle safety recalls database, the issue could prevent the instrument panel from showing important information like the speedometer, fuel gauge, warning lights, or malfunction indicators when the car is started. The recall affects vehicles with a 12.3-inch display panel.
Toyota says it will contact owners by mail. Dealerships will update the display software, and in some cases, may need to replace the display unit.
Models affected include:
- Lexus: LS (2024–2025), RX 500H (2025), TX (2024)
- Toyota: Camry (2024), Crown (2023–2025), Crown Signia (2025), GR Corolla (2024), Grand Highlander (2024–2025), Highlander (2023–2024), RAV4 (2023–2025), RAV4 Prime (2023–2024), Tacoma (2024), Venza (2023–2024)
Owners can check with Toyota Canada or their dealership to see if their vehicle is part of the recall.
