Surrey,BC- Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating an early morning shooting that damaged a business in the Newton neighbourhood.

At approximately 3:50 a.m. on January 28, 2026, SPS officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 8100 block of 120 Street. Upon arrival, police located a business that had been struck by bullets. The business was unoccupied at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported.

The SPS Major Crime Section has assumed conduct of the investigation, which remains in its early stages as investigators continue to gather evidence from the scene.

While the motive has not yet been confirmed, police say the shooting appears to be linked to the ongoing series of extortion-related incidents in Surrey.

Investigators are asking anyone with information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, or anyone who may know the identities of those involved, to contact Surrey Police Service at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Please quote file number 26-9191 (SP).
