
Surrey, B.C. — Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating a shots-fired incident in the Newton neighbourhood after gunfire damaged an outbuilding at a residential property.
Police were called at approximately 10:34 a.m. on August 12, 2026, after a homeowner in the area of 76 Avenue and 124 Street reported finding what appeared to be gunshot damage to an outbuilding on the property.
SPS Frontline officers arrived at approximately 10:39 a.m. and confirmed that the exterior damage had been caused by gunfire. No one was injured.
Police say it is currently unknown whether the incident is connected to extortion.
SPS is asking anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area, has dashcam footage or CCTV footage, or has information about the incident to contact the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502.
